500 Days of Summer
Last night, I watched ‘500 Days of Summer’ & it wasn’t what I expected. I was expecting a love story instead I got a story about love. The main character, Tom, falls in love with Summer, the girl he thinks is the “one”. Summer & Tom seem to be as happy as can be until she leaves him & marries another man. Tom is devastated & feels like he will never be able to love again. Towards the end of the movie, Summer finds Tom sitting on a bench at the park they would always visit. She goes up to Tom & tells him about the other guy & how she just one day woke up & knew he was the one. It shattered Tom’s heart.
In the end, Tom stumbles upon a woman noticed him at the park before. Tom said he had never seen her, & the woman replied, “you just weren’t looking.” He stops & thinks. He was always thinking & dwelling about Summer that he never noticed anyone else. He asks her out for coffee & then for her name. She replies, “I’m Autumn.”
Absolutely good movie, & this is my favorite scene because he’s so happy to be in love.
